Kalinka

Kalinka Kids began as a personal project, created by a mother with a desire to make clothing slowly and with care. From the beginning, the brand followed a quiet path, shaped by handcraft, patience, and attention to detail.

What started small grew naturally, without pressure to expand quickly or follow trends. Kalinka Kids continues to work at its own pace, staying close to the values that inspired it from the start.

Hand-knit with Love

All garments are handcrafted in Bulgaria by experienced knitters who carry on a centuries-old tradition. These artisans — many of them grandmothers with decades of experience — make each piece with patience, knowledge, and intention.

The country’s rich heritage in yarn work and textile craft is part of the brand’s foundation, and this deep connection to craftsmanship gives the garments their distinctive character and quality.

A Personal Approach

The story of Kalinka is closely tied to personal experience. While pregnant with twins, Nora spent time knitting sweaters and cardigans for her children. Inspired by old wardrobes and the knowledge of local knitters, she began creating her first designs.

Over time, these pieces found their way beyond her home. Today, Kalinka is carried internationally, while remaining deeply connected to the place and people who make the garments.

The name Kalinka means ladybug in Bulgarian — a small symbol of care, tradition, and joy.

Classic Shapes Made for Everyday Wear

Kalinka designs are simple and romantic, inspired by the past without feeling nostalgic. The silhouettes are familiar and balanced, designed to layer easily and to feel natural on the body.

Soft colours and delicate textures give the garments a timeless quality, allowing them to move easily from season to season. Kalinka knitwear is designed to be worn often. The pieces are warm without being heavy and comfortable without restricting movement.

These are garments meant for daily life — to be layered, washed, and lived in, becoming part of a child’s routine rather than something reserved for special occasions.

Kalinka at The Singing Toes

We chose Kalinka because the brand stays close to its craft.

The garments are still hand-knitted in Bulgaria, using techniques that take time and care. You can feel it in the weight of the knit and in how the pieces wear over time.

Kalinka doesn’t try to do more than necessary. The clothing is made simply, with attention and love. It’s why Kalinka belongs at The Singing Toes.
